Eternal Light Secondary School fully recognises its responsibilities for child protection.
“Because of their day to day contact with individual children during the school terms, teachers and other school staff are particularly well placed to observe the outward signs of abuse, changes in behaviour or failure to develop.”

It is never acceptable to bully someone. It is not how a Muslim deals with another person. If you are making someone feel uncomfortable or unhappy then you should change your behaviour. Everyone has a right to feel safe and happy in our School.
If you suspect someone is being bullied, come and talk to your form tutor, subject teachers, senior students, Student Council, DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead- Moulana Hassan), CWO (Child Welfare Officers – Moulana Feizal Patel & Moulana Abdur Raqeeb) or the Headteacher, Moulana Yusuf Collector.
As part of the schools drive to tackle all aspects of bullying, pupils take part each year in Anti-Bullying Week and other similar workshops and lessons to help raise awareness of the harms of bullying. This is also taught from an Islamic perspective using teachings from the Quran and Hadith of our beloved Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
Anti-Bullying Week helps our school to shine a spotlight on bullying and encourage all children, teachers and parents to take action against bullying throughout the year.
You can access our free anti-bullying online information tool at www.anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk/parenttool
Pupils revisit this topic throughout the school year to help remind us all the harms of bullying and how Islam does not allow any type of zulm (oppression) to anyone whatever their race, creed, religion or colour.
